I wonder at how much I continue to learn about cacti, these 55 years after seeing my first wild cacti while starting graduate school at the University of Arizona in Tucson. Odd that my passion for studying organic chemistry accidentally led to this hobby. I haven't thought about organic chemistry during the past ten years of retirement. I've thought much about cacti during those same ten years.
