Echinocereus viridiflorus red-flowered     5/23/21
This is another of my creations - well, alert discovery is more truthful. In case you don't know it, the natural (?) flower of this species is yellow ("viridiflorus" = (yellowish) green flowered). I noticed a red flowered individual about six years ago among the yellows. I've been working on making more reds by standard classical breeding starting with this discovered one red plant. I hope to develop a population which always breeds true from seed to the red color. I have today about 50 plants that give red flowers. I still have the original red plant which I use in my breeding experiments.   (53/56)
