Notocactus magnificus    8/19/21
It's hard to get an idea of the size of this plant. I took this picture just so you could see the 5" (13 cm) pot its been in for many years. I'm going to transplant it into a much bigger pot next spring just to see how much bigger the plant will get. I remember seeing many of this species in the Huntington Gardens in San Marino, California. They were close to 2' (0.6 m) tall. Maybe a bigger pot will encourage the plant to grow beyond that disfiguring basal corkiness.   (096/112)
