Notocactus magnificus    8/19/21
I think that I planted the seed for this plant and its mate about 2005. Both plants have produced flowers reliably since about 2008. What is so odd to me is that I can't predict when the main flower time will be. My photo records have it that they flower any time from June to October. I thought cactus flowering was more regularly a function of day length, but maybe not for this species. Both plants push out dribbles of more flowers for a month or more after the main burst. One of these is now (9/28/21) flowering. A picture of an offspring of my two plants having its first flower is slide #70 of this gallery.   (095/112)
