Mammillaria lasiacantha SB233 Jarilla Mntns     1/23/22

They are the size of my little finger tip, and they are blooming, in winter. This is not a function of my cold, if protected (no lower than 40 F (4 C)) greenhouse environment. I've gone looking for this species south of Carlsbad NM in the first week of February, and there, under some brush, I found the little beauties, blooming away. No greenhouse necessary. Night temperatures there in winter are often below freezing.
