Echinofossulocactus zacatecaensis     1/23/20
The genus Echinofossulocactus has some identification problems. This species might be confused with E. ochoterenaus. But, it might have less radial spines than E. ochoterenaus. I can't get to my E. ochoterenaus quite yet so a good comparison has to wait for spring, when I unpack the cloches. By the way, at least one book by a cactus expert says that this species (E. zacatecaensis) is synonymous with E. multicostatus. That might be the dumbest thing I've ever seen in a cactus book. Pictures of E. multicostatus are a bit later in this gallery.   (08/24)
