Echinocereus rubispinus (graft onto E. subdenudata)     6/5/17
This flower set seed with hand pollination via a paint brush. The seed will be pure because of isolation. There is a tiny pup at the base of the plant from the stock, something I was told wouldn’t happen with E. subdenudata. I’ve seen lots of this, so don’t believe it when you run across this supposed virtue of E. subdenudata as a grafting stock. For my money, I think that Harrisia jusbertii is the ideal rootstock.   (34/48)
