Pilosocereus sp. 8/21/16
I include this picture because of the rarity of seeing Pilosocereus flowers. The patch of white hairs is either a cephalium or a pseudocephalium. Flowers will only form in this region. The hairs themselves are probably correctly called “trichomes.” They may be a single cell. I’ve got to find a good microscope somewhere and see if I can figure this out. (23/32)
