This is often called a subspecies of the previous species (that is, Echinocereus rigidissimus rubispinus) but I'm not convinced. It lives entirely in Mexico, well away from any E. rigidissimus populations. I'll try to remember to send a picture of the two plants next to each other in the next mail. There won't be flowers blocking your view of the plant bodies. They are very different to me.   (25/48)
