Cheiridopsis denticulata 'albiflora' MG1368.36     12/30/18
Same plant two weeks later. The top somewhat bedraggled flower is the one in the previous picture. Even spent, the mesemb flowers are interesting. The second flower opened three days ago. The flower gets bigger for a few days after opening. When whoever named it called this subspecies "white flower," a white version must have been at hand. I recommend any Cheiridopsis to you. The flowers are grand. The genus name can be translated as "like a (crab's?) claw," referring to the appearance of the plant. I'm not convinced from this species, but maybe one member does have a more claw-y appearance. "Denticulata" I think means that something about the plant reminded the namer of teeth.   (20/24)
