xmas cactus     11/18/17
Nothing special about this picture, except that you also can encourage your xmas cacti to flower every year. Just put them outside into a spot with bright indirect (!!!) sun after all danger of frost is past. My several plants spend the summer under a big ponderosa pine. Take them inside before frost starts. (May 15 to September 15 for most of the US) Another necessity is that you must water and fertilize with acidic water. Add a tablespoon of vinegar (any flavor!) per gallon of water to make sure that you're properly acidic. Water them as much as you can stand. You won't hurt the plant with constant watering. Just be sure to add some very dilute fertilizer to the water.   (21/32)
