I’m slowly moving my more sensitive cacti back under cover. That is, the least cold tolerant plants will be inside the greenhouse for the winter (I heat this at night to keep the temperature above freezing.) and the more cold tolerant go into one of two cloches. The “warm” cloche gets heat from its shared wall with my greenhouse and with my garage. The “cold” cloche gets heat only from the wall it shares with the greenhouse. Some plants will once more spend the winter outside, with no protection. Common winter nighttime temperatures hover around 0 F (-18 C). We’ve had thunderstorms the past two days, but there was a clearing for several hours this afternoon and I could move plants in comfort.
