Echinocereus chisoensis fobeanus HK303 MG185.5    9/2/2014
You saw this plant in the last mailing. This is one of the two buds remaining now flowering. I tried crossing this flower with all 18 species of other cacti that bloomed at the same time. The fruit swelled slightly and stayed on until yesterday, when it fell off. Rats. The plant was messing with my mind, teasing me into thinking I was going to get some hybrid seeds. The event kind of corresponds to a spontaneous abortion in mammals.   (09/32)
