Cleistocactus baumannii
Another summer-long blooming Kleistocactus. ("Kleistos" is Greek for "closed", which refers to the hardly-open flowers of the genus. I've never learned why taxonomists invariably convert good Greek letters to Latin near equivalents. Almost everyone who uses the various European alphabets pronounces "k" the same way. The letter "c" can be "k", "s", "ts", "tz", "th", and probably other consonant sounds with which I'm not immediately familiar.)    (14/32)
