Pilosocereus sp.     7/29/20
I had four flowers last year, two each on my two plants. This year, it was four flowers, two times two on one plant. I'm still amazed, after 20 years of watching this Brazilian species, seeing it drop that ever so turgidly succulent flower a day after flowering. I've tried crossing it with any pollen available all these years, with never any success. The white hairs, if I can believe my books, are a single cell extension. I wonder why the whiteness never seems to be marred. Never a graying, etc. Just a wonderful white.   (65/72)
