Echinofossulocactus sulphureus MG315.8     12/30/18
If you look carefully, low on the plant, you'll see some wispy spines. These were on the plant just after it was born out of the seed. These spines persisted for some weeks. Almost all the spine patterns of low, very short spines that you see came after the wispy spines. The wispy spines drop off after a while. (This plant is actually going cristate after what seems to be a dichotomous branching, but that's a another topic)   (23/24)
