Siegfried Lodwig's flowers and plants for July - October 2018
I've been putting my cacti back under cover for the coming winter. It's slow because of my hip, but I've managed to do it. I still have to move the tall ones back inside, a pretty easy job with a hand truck. I found new homes for many of my extra cacti this summer so the process was a little less burdensome this fall. Of course, this means that I now have lots of room in the greenhouse and I'll spend the winter potting up many plants for future shows. I've got 150 gallons of synthetic soil on hand that I made in August with my new cement mixer. Sitting in the sun in a warm winter greenhouse potting up cacti is actually a pleasant way to spend time.
