Echinocereus stoloniferus SB1330 MG258.12     5/29/17
This is a trick shot, the result of using wide-angle optics for closeups. The flower looks immense, but is actually a bit more than 3 “ (7.5 cm) across. The pot is 5” (12.5 cm) in diameter. To avoid this distortion I often use the telephoto optics of my camera. Sometimes the wide-angle pictures are just more crisp and color intense (to my eyes, anyway) so I send them. This pure yellow flower is as arresting in real life as in the photo.   (31/48)
